Create your business account on Facebook
Go to business.facebook.com and click "Create Account". This will be associated with your personal Facebook account that is currently open. If you don't have an active session, you will need to log in.
Enter your business name, your name, and work email. Then click "Submit".
Fill in the fields with your company information. You will notice that there are two usage options. The first is ideal for those who promote their own service or product. The second option is for those who promote the services of other companies, such as agencies. It's important that the website always contains HTTPS. Otherwise, registration cannot be completed.
Go to your email and confirm your account.
Check if you are verified.
If you already have an account, go to business.facebook.com and discover the verification status under "More Tools" > "Business Settings."
When you click, a new window will open. In it, go to "Business Info" and check if you are verified or not.
At this point, it's important to clarify that Facebook Business Manager (FBM) verification is different from page verification.
Difference: Page Verification and FBM Verification
Page verification is a blue badge that guarantees the authenticity of your brand on the social network. In contrast, FBM (Facebook Business Manager) verification is used to confirm that a Business Manager account belongs to a real business or organization.
With the latter, access to important tools for your business development is unlocked, such as the WhatsApp Business API.
With this clarification in mind, let's now look at the step-by-step process for verifying your account.
Verify Facebook Business Manager
Step 1: Initiate Verification
Go to the "Business Settings" > "Security Center" route and click on "Start Verification."
If the button is disabled, you'll need to create an app. But don't worry! It's much simpler than it sounds.
Step 1.1: Create an App
Navigate to developers.facebook.com. If you already have an account, go to "My Apps." If you don't have an account yet, go to "Getting Started" and complete the registration.
When you're in "My Apps," click on "Create App," choose "Business," and then "Continue." Fill in your details and click "Create Application."
Next, go back to the "Security Center," refresh the page, and click on the "Start Verification" button, which should now be enabled.
Step 2: Register Company Information
Keep in mind that your business name, phone number, and address will be cross-referenced with your website (always with https://) and the documents you'll upload in the following steps, so they must match.
Step 3: Verify Your Company's Legal Name
Upload an official document that corresponds to the legal name of the company you declared earlier. Below, you'll find the accepted and rejected documents in the United States. Try to find documents that closely resemble or are equivalent to these in your region:
Certificate of Incorporation/Bylaws of the Company
Business Registration or License Official
Tax Document for the Business: This may include a tax certificate. Tax documents submitted by the business itself are not accepted.
Business Bank Statement
Utility Bill: Utility bills are accepted solely for validating the business's address and phone number. The legal name of the business must be on the bill. Utility bills are not accepted for verifying the legal name of the business.
Step 4: Verify the Business Address or Phone Number
Proceed in the same way with a document containing the business's phone number or address.
Step 5: Verify the Security Code
Choose a method to verify the Facebook security code: SMS, email, or phone call, and follow the instructions.
And you're all set! Now, you just need to wait for Facebook's response. This is how you can verify Facebook Business Manager.
Upon receiving your verification, a unique identification number or ID will be generated, which you can find in "Business Settings" below your company's logo and name. In case your request is not approved, you can re-submit it with additional documentation to verify the accuracy of the information.
